Barbara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Counselor, trainer, professional speaker, and “Second Half of Life” success coach with over 30 years of experience in the areas of treatment, prevention and training. She received her graduate degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her current professional career includes work with adolescent, family, adult, older adult and business populations. She has been a consultant for retirement communities and maintains a coaching & counseling practice in Hinsdale, Il.
Barbara has been a graduate university instructor in the areas of psychology, gerontology and second half of life topics. Throughout her career Barbara has presented to national, state, local conferences and given key-note speeches on topics related to success motivation, diversity in the workplace, generations at work, psychology, adolescent, women's topics and second half of life topics. Barbara has presented training in a variety of settings to large corporations and small companies including ConAgra, Kraft Foods, Panasonic, American Society of Aging, hospital, educational, and retirement settings. Barbara is also a successful independent speaker and coach.
In the early 90’s Barbara developed and authored The Psychology of Positive Aging™, a dynamic eight-unit training program for older adults and those who lived and worked with them. This program was distributed nationally with workbook, audio and video components.
